REACH Regulation

REACH is the EU regulation for the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals. It governs the market placement of chemicals in the EU.

    • SCANCON Encoders A/S does not manufacture or distribute products that intentionally release chemicals.
    • Our products do not contain substances of concern above 0.1% as specified in REACH, Article 56, and the Candidate list (SVHC-list).
    • No substance registration under REACH is required for our products.
    • Conforms with the REACH Regulation and does not contain any Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).

RoHS Directive

RoHS is the EU Directive that restricts hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products (EEE products). Limits certain substances to no more than 0.1% by weight of homogeneous material (0.01% for cadmium).

    • SCANCON Encoders complies with Directive 2011/65/EU (including amendments) on the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS).

WEEE Directive

The WEEE directive aims to prevent electrical and electronic equipment waste from entering the waste stream. It assigns the responsibility for disposal and recycling of WEEE to the entity placing the product on the market in each country.

  • SCANCON Encoders A/S products are not covered by the WEEE Directive.
  • Our products do not fall within the defined product categories and are always integrated into larger systems or equipment.
  • Therefore, they are not considered "stand-alone" equipment as defined by the Technical Adaptation Committee (TAC).

Conflict Minerals Statement

SCANCON Encoders A/S is dedicated to sourcing components and materials from companies that share our values of respect for human rights, integrity, and environmental responsibility.

Compliance Requirements

  • Adheres to SEC conflict minerals due diligence and disclosure requirements.
  • Conflict minerals: tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (3TG).

Commitment to OECD and Dodd-Frank Act

  • Follows OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.
  • Complies with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act to prevent financing armed groups in the DRC and adjoining countries.

Supplier Requirements

  • Suppliers must commit to being “conflict-free” and source only from conflict-free smelters.
  • Suppliers must provide declarations of their commitment to becoming conflict-free and document the origins of 3TG minerals.
